Wedding Week With Adele          Adele here. I’m deeply touched by the sweet things Richard has written about me. My brother is such a sweetie pie.    Wedding week for a groom is dominated, directed, and supervised by his sister.    The blushing groom is regarded as “unclean”. Sister “purifies” him for 7 days, with the assistance of Mother and family females. Saturday night he goes home with Mother, who prepares him for the Sunday afternoon wedding.   Groom Gruel    For a month beforehand, and his first year of marriage, the groom’s sole nutrition consists of “Groom Gruel”. Several large daily bowls of thick tasteless glop. His sister and future wife make him gobble it all up.    GG is loaded with nutrition and ingredients that prepare him for marriage. Marriage Week – Richard    Richard here. My beloved wife wishes me to tell you about my Marriage Week first. “Marriage Week” comprises the 7 days leading up to “Marriage Day”. Both deserve proper attention.    Marriage Week is entirely different for each gender. As I understand the matter from my limited knowledge, for brides it’s a giddy whirl of extravagant shopping expeditions, riotous parties, sumptuous brunches, and other pleasant and pleasurable activities.    Grooms have much different experiences, with little to nothing in the way of fun. Someone, doubtless a male, called it “Penitential Purdah”. A bit extreme, yet not off the mark. My MW was traditional and typical.    Sisters have primary charge of them, and are constantly present.
